    65 Radio Question

My radio works well in the car and on the bench; however, I am missing the end to connect to the speaker. Where does the wiring connect for the speaker connection? The speaker was "rigged" with the positive connected to the DS501 power transistor. The schematic shows that the positive to the speaker is suppose to connect to C1 (4mfd capacitor).

Also where can I purchase a connector end?

    Thanks...

Here's a '64 I have; connections of speaker wires to back of radio are the same.

      Re: 65 Radio Question

      Stephen,

Yes the positive lead connects to the 4 Mfd cap, but notice it's actually connected to the "C" Collector terminal of the DS501 output transistor. Look at the bottom of your schematic in your post. See it says the "COLLECTOR & MTG LUG". It's the center lug on the DS501. That is mounted to the heat sink. Your tattered green wire is connected to the right place. The Collector is connected to the entire heat sink. Ground connects to the radio chassis. See the pic below of the back of a '67 radio and how the speaker harness is connected. Notice the black ground wire and where it attaces to the chassis also, and the clamp to hold it there.

You can get a replacement speaker output harness with connector from most suppliers. CC has it here....522012
