    Starter date question

I need to replace an incorrect starter on my '62. Car build date is about June 7. Engine build date is May 31. What's the ideal window for the starter date? May 15- May 31?

    Thanks,
    Charlie

    Charlie -

Engine build date doesn't matter - the starter was installed at St. Louis. 2-4 weeks prior to the car build date would be "typical", although full credit will be given for up to six months prior.

My experience from tracking 62's the last 38 years is that you probably want something April 1 to May 15. They didnt make them every working day (they were batch-built) so anything in that range would be ideal.
