I am installing a new front end consisting of a GM upper surround and side fenders . My gap is getting very tight at the front between the surround and the side fender .The frame and the core support all seem to be straight . I have a good hood gap all around . I still have all the welded shims between the frame and the lower core support . If I add about 1/4"of shims to the right lower side I get a good gap between my lower fender and the surround. That also levels my core support . and gives me the same distance from the floor to the head lamp area. My question is did any one else need to add shims to there core support ?

Re: 65 BB core support / frame shims
Bill, the only shims that I added were between the sides of the cores support and the inner fenders.

Re: 65 BB core support / frame shims
After 48 years, lots of water over that dam. There is no guarantee the same amount of shims are needed today. You should jack the frame up and level it on jack stands, then level the body to match. Then you will know if your measurements are correct.- Top
