Placement of 427 numbers on hood.

    Gentlemen:

I am in desperate need of information relating to the EXACT placement of the 427 numbers on a 1967 big block hood. I am without my shop manual and don't readily know if this information is contained within. Can anyone recommend a dealer that might sell a template for this placement? Any recommendations, pictures with measurements, etc? A direct reply to my email address would be appreciated. I would be eternally grateful. Many thanks.

The dimensions are in the 67 AIM page L36 A15.

What happened to the holes that were in the hood?

        Ken,

I know this is not what you are asking for, but one of our other members asked for the 454 hood number placement.

The A.I.M. shows where your 427 numbers go, but this is what I did for the member asking for the 454 placement.

It seemed a lot easier than the book.

It also was more goof proof.

Just an idea of what the guys might be able to do for you with the 427 numbers.

        Best of luck,

        Monte

Many thanks! I've got a couple of suggestions and the actual AIM print - I'm in good shape!

            ,
I am glad you have it figured out.
Still be careful. Having the AIM pattern is great, but getting the location is one thing, but the tilt is another.

Just take your time. It is a little trickier than it looks to get right.

Sorry to hear you got stuck with one of those cars with that ugly hood. lol

Thank you, again! I'm a lot more confident now than I was 2 days ago. I plan to check, double check and check again before drilling. Yeah, some guys have all the luck; me, a 427 big block Corvette, red/red with side exhausts, PS, and air!
