Just had the horn relay rebuilt and it appeared to be black when I shipped it out for rebuilding....got it back and the cover is not painted. Does anyone know if it was originally black? I know the voltage regulator is black. Dave

 Dave -

The 837 horn relay cover was zinc-plated, not painted.

Dave - As far as I know, the 67 horn relay covers were unpainted, but I have seen varying amounts of black paint on the covers probably from blacking out in the engine compartment. The voltage regulator covers were originally painted black as you noted. Pete- Top

 Dave,

Here's the before restoration photo of the 67 Horn Relay in John's picture.
This is an untouched original on a 67 327, not sure if it any different on a 427.Attached FilesJerry Fuccillo
