L1966-1967 type seat belt buckle w/5-panel webbing??????

Years ago I bought a pair of very nice 1967 style black seat belts (buckle sides only). I do not have the other 2 belts with the white cloth tag. The seat belts have buckles that are stamped "BAY-TRIM", RCF-65" and "D277" along with 5-panel webbing. Based on my research the L1966-1967 Corvette & Chevrolet seat belts have 3-panel webbing and do not have the "BAY-TRIM" stamping on the buckle. Any ideas?

Attached are photos of my original April build 1967 belts and buckles. The belt is 3 panel webbing; 2 narrow and the center wide.

The " Bay Trim " buckles came up on a Google search, both on the Camaro & Chevelle forums. I would imagine they were for a lot of different cars.

        Stephan,

Thanks for the photos. I did not think that my seat belts were 1967 vintage because of the 5 panel webbing.

I just did some digging this afternoon in my very HOT garage attic and found a set of NOS, actually NORS, seat belts with GM part # 3955692 that look identical to the seat belts in question. The NORS seat belts have the same buckle and 5 panel webbing. I vaguely remember buying the seat belts at my local Chevrolet dealership back in the 1980's because they were cheap, maybe $25 or $30. The receipt must be somewhere in my files. My 1981 Corvette Parts Catalog (Nov. 1981) lists GM # 3955692 for 58-67 Corvettes, service replacements obviously.

        1985 Chev. Price Schedule, GM # 3955692, $26.25 list, $22.31 w/discount.

        Case Closed.

        Dave
