C3 Windshield molding T-Top silver caulk - Mortite?

I'm just curious if anyone has tried using Mortite from Frost King between the molding and T-Top. This stuff is readily available at big box stores.

I just did and would say that the factory stuff behind my moldings was almost identical in every way to the Mortite. The original color was not readily apparent until I started scraping it off/out due to dirt, etc. But the inside, or undisturbed color and texture was almost the same.

Mortite is the same product that the restorers use when the restore a removable hardtop. It works well for them should work well on your molding.

Good to hear. I got some and it's a nice shade of gray. I think I'll proceed with using it. I'll post some pics when done.

I put the Mortite in today and I'm very happy with the results. I used a plastic scraper to get the bulk of the excess off and then used mineral spirits on a rag to clean up and smooth out the remaining Mortite. It was pretty easy.
