    Vacuum advance solenoid 72 LT-1

I am looking for NOS vacuum advance solenoid for my 72 LT-1 with a/c. Is there a part # and what year corvettes used the same #? Going to Bloomington to look for one, any help would be appreciated.

The part number is GM #1114451. It was discontinued without supercession in July, 1989. As far as Corvettes go, this piece was uniquely applicable to 1972.

Joe, thank you for the info. I looks as though my findings are limited. Is there a way to find the # on the solenoid?

Yes, the part number is usually found embossed on the plastic end of the solenoid or embossed or printed in the steel frame of the solenoid.

You should not have any trouble finding one, but NOS will be more difficult. I believe that original examples had the part number embossed on the plastic end. Those with the part number on the metal frame ("barrel") I believe may be later SERVICE pieces.

I feel pretty confident that a lot of these things got removed early-on by owners and immediately junked. I'll bet there are untold numbers rotting away in landfills.

Part number will be stamped into the mounting bracket.

Easy to find on eBay. The odds of finding one at Bloomington are small.

I always thought the part number was stamped into the plastic on the end of the solenoid. However, as I look at the examples on eBay it appears that what I thought was plastic is actually metal and part of the bracket. I've got to admit, though, that I've never really taken much interest in these things so I probably didn't look close enough or with much care.

And, the backside of the bracket usually has a different part number for a different solenoid.
Not visible unless you remove the bracket, of course.
