Hi, Eric: Good story about your Dad's '64...bet you would love to have BOTH the '57 Chev back, as well as the '64 Vette! Good luck with the restoration of your '64. Please let me know if I can be any assistance with any pics or info, as our '64 is almost completely stock and original (and will stay that way). Best regards, Bill Hurley

        Two words:
        Bowtie Award

        Two more words:
        Historical reference

Try and find a 1964 with its original pipes, no matter what the condition.

Patrick: I will admit to being a bit confused by your posting. I can, and do, appreciate the significance of maintaining the originality and historical reference of factory installed parts....until they have deteriorated to the point that they are no longer safe to have on the car. Exhaust pipes with holes in them that leak exhaust gases under the car are plainly unsafe. That is what I meant by "old, rusted-through pipes." Since this car would be driven to any event where it was to be judged, I can't imagine being awarded any points or receiving recognition for keeping unsafe parts on my car, even though they may be original. Indeed, I would expect to be admonished for doing so. I think we are not fully understanding one another. Please explain. Respectfully, Bill Hurley

+1. Excellent! That is the way to go, keeping a car safe and driving it is the ultimate respect for her, good luck with it, great story!
