Does anyone know if I can have the radiator & fan shroud installed (327/300) on the car prior to the body drop or will I run into problems with the clutch fan interference as the body is lowered? I have tried to have everything including the pg transmission cooler, factory ac (C60) installed prior to the body drop including the condenser, dryer, evap box, etc. The rolling chassis is ready to go and has been running. Thanks. Jim

Re: 65 Body Drop Question Factory C60 car
Jim, I would say that alot depends on how you have to drop the body onto car, If its man power, then I would keep the fan and shroud off, If the body is being lowered on to the chassis and can be done slowly then try it as you have it, But the fan is a easy removel and install so maybe just leave it off just in case.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: 65 Body Drop Question Factory C60 car
I don't think so Jimmy. I did a 67 big block 390 air car in the 90's, and you need the space that the fan and shround uses to make proper adjustments to secure the chassis. The AC Compressor will also need to be installed after the body drop. My car also had a smog pump. All of these accesories were added after the body was back on the car. A big block takes more space, but you still need to adjust the chassis to match it all up. Three of us had it all bolted together in two hours, and then another two hours to install all the missing accesories.Over 80 Corvettes of fun ! Love Rochester Fuel Injection 57-65 cars. Re: 65 Body Drop Question Factory C60 car
If you look at body drop pictures, it appears that the shroud is laid back onto the fan and pushed rearward. The radiator support and radiator is in the body, and the body is lowered straight down. After drop the shroud is bolted up to the support.- Top
