1965 Trim Parts nose emblem fit ?

I bought a new Trim Parts nose emblem because they make the correct color red . I tried to install it and it is to flat , the ends of the flags stick up almost 1/4 inch . My original and a new GM part with the wrong color fit great . I called Trim Parts they said they have never had any problems with that part but I can return it and they will check it . Has anyone else had this problem ?

Not seen this issues, but I live close to Trim Parts and have used some of their mid-year corvette parts. They are great people and will try to resolve your issue. Maybe somehow you received the wrong part. I had an issue with their carpets in my '64 and they were great working with me. My issues was somewhat with the my installation, but they borrowed my original carpets and used them to make a pattern. Good Luck.

      Bill ,

I have indeed had the same problem !

I doubt you can blame Trim Parts much , as mine was equally flat , and I wound up breaking it trying to bend it into shape . It was however , one I had purchased from GM about twenty years ago
I hope I got the correct box with the correct emblem in the pic I just took , but even if I did not , you can take my word for the fact it came out of a GM box , bought by me from my local Chevy dealer over 20 years ago , And while it was beautiful, it fit like sh***** !

I wound up using the old one , re plated and re painted .

One can only hope in your case that some came out better than others and the next one you get will be better .

      Jim

I had the same problem with the Trim Parts nose emblem. I wound up cracking the emblem trying to get it to fit flush. I replaced it and just tightened it down a little bit and left it sticking up on the corners. Not that noticeable unless you are looking closely.

I had that same issue with the front flag emblem on my 70. After calling Trim Parts, they revealed a "bad batch" and replaced the piece. The second piece fit properly.
