    Interior Carpet Vendor Choices

I am ready to buy the interior carpeting for my 1965 Corvette convertible. I have obtained samples for Al Knoch and ACC. The attached picture show both samples which are sitting on the original jack board carpeting that came out of the car. The two samples from ACC are very different from each other. The ACC sample on the right which has the pronounced "corn rows" has too small of loop compared to the original and the other samples.

I'd like to hear from some members that have bought carpeting from either vendor and what they did and did not like about it such as the actual weave of the carpeting that you were sent and how it fits.

How did either carpet fare in flight judging?

    Which vendor would you choose?

    Thanks in advance!

I have always bought Al Knoch. I used to go by their place when Dale was around (RIP) and the last set I bought was for my '67. Dale would drag out their considerable stock of original carpets, so that pile, color, and yes even the stitching thread color and pattern, could be matched to your satisfaction. I'm pretty sure they still try real hard to match it exactly.

Just recently did business with both vendors for my 66 coupe with dark green interior. First was Al Knoch, received carpet, looked nice until I noticed they pieced the top portion of the carpet which fit under the rear window with a very noticeable seam, see pic, couldn't resolve due to them not knowing when they would receive another shipment of dark green carpet, so returned for a refund, all in all, wasted about a month dealing with them. I then bought the carpet from ACC through Stock Interiors, carpet fit nicely and looks good. Don't think anyone is going to make it like the original. 66 coupe rear 2.jpg

From the small sample the ACC on the left looks the best. However no matter who or what is used expect a date deduction on originality (20%).
None of the carpet on the market today is as BAD as the original. I've spent a lot of time searching old carpet shops hoping to find some left over stock, none yet.

I just put ACC carpet in my 65 coupe. It fit perfectly, as does everything I've bought from them. Mine is the same as the ACC sample on the left.

I also installed ACC carpet in my '64 roadster last summer. It was dark blue, foam backed and also matched the ACC sample patch on the left in the pic. I felt the dark blue color shade was a bit on the dark side. Carpet quality was very good, IMO.
