    Re: TCS operations check

What? Are they calling for 2 straight years of good weather and no work?

Maybe you should look out your window tomorrow. I may just drive across the state to say hi .

Actually, I do take it out almost every week between May 1 and Sept 30. Problem is, Baker's is only 7 miles from the house...

I am keenly interested in what folks are seeing for performance when the TCS is bypassed, because lately, I may be noticing a lack of power when accelerating in 4th gear. I could be imagining this - need to drive the car more to see. Hopefully, I'll give the bypass a try this weekend. Will report back if I notice anything.
I discovered how the TCS functioned on my bought new 1970 within a couple weeks. I was outside my new 70 350/300 turbo 400 and left it running with the air conditioner in use. The temp unit in the passenger side head told the TCS the engine temp was to high and allowed full time vacuum to the vacuum advance which increased idle speed. This discovery convinced me I did not want TCS controlling my engines vacuum advance. I bought the vacuum hose and hooked the vacuum advance direct to the carbs vacuum source. Gas mileage in the city increased with full time vacuum and the engine temp in city driving was less. Soon it will be 43 years of not using the TCS and using full time vacuum on my 1970.
