    horn sticking

While trying to get my '62's soft top up, I accidently mashed the horn button and the horn stuck on. Removed horn button from behind horn button;horn still on. Had to disconnect horn to stop it. Horn relay stuck closed, maybe? What to do? Help! Haven't been able to get top stretched out enough to clamp down, either;95 degrees; not a good day. Thanks

    Re: horn sticking

Come on some of you electrical experts; I need help. After talking to Pirkle, Jr. and tech at Paragon, was told sticking closed horn relay is rare and probably a short somewhere in steering column wiring-something grounding, possibly on bearing surround. What would you check? Thanks

      Re: horn sticking

You could disconnect the horn wire where it comes out if the column and plugs into the harness. This would tell you if the problem is a short in the column wiring or another part of the harness.

        Re: horn sticking

Is the plunger under the horn button pushed in and stuck or maybe pushed out of its bore? If you really mashed the horn button, it might be possible.

I second Dennis's suggested cause, it is certainly the most obvious.
