    427 oil pressure fitting

Which of the fittings in the photos is the right fitting to plumb the oil pressure line to the block of a 427? Is the other fitting the right one for 70 LT-1?

The straight fitting on the left is the correct one for a solid lifter BB in 1967.

The 45 degree angled fitting on the right looks to be from a 1968+ BB engine.

I am pretty sure nothing you have there is for a 1970 LT1. I think all small blocks need no adapter. The hole in a small block is 1/8-inch pipe thread.

Edit add: Pat if you want a photo of the 1970 LT1 fitting, let me4 know and I'll take one for you. I don't thinkl I will have to do much dissassembly to get to it.

Thanks guys. I glad to learn there was a difference in fittings between 67 and 68.

Thanks Terry, but I hadn't looked the 350 block for a while and just assumed that what wasn't for a BB in my pile of stuff was for a small block. A problem of having too many things apart at the same time. Thanks for reminding me that the SB has a 1/8" pipe thread in the block. I know what it needs from that info.

Also, the comment that a PG 427 uses the 45 degree fitting is interesting, but mine is L-71 4 speed so I will use the straight fitting. Thanks all for the info.
