    C1 Interior Heat Abatement

I am looking for solutions for the floorboard heat in my '58. I've read that "C1's don't have heat issues", but I disagree. I would like to install something under the new carpet. Any suggestions? The type and where to buy any heat/sound deadeners would be appreciated.

    Stan,

Read the Restorer 2012 article on a C2 about floorboard insulation heat abatement.

Attached is a 2008 Restorer article I wrote on floorboard insulation heat testing.

Hushmat came out on top. Thinnest material with best heat reduction.

Agree with Gary on Hushmat. I have used it and it worked well.

Used Hushmat on my 62 and it is great. Can buy at most Hot Rod retailers or there are some great deals on the internet. Just google Hushmat

I like Dynamat Extreme, made in U.S.A.
Good for heat and sound abatement, easy to install, 1/8 inch thick.
Great stuff, buy online for best price.

Try Lizard Skin applied to the underside of the floor. No need to remove carpet, just clean the underside and spray on. You will have to find a shop to spray the material on, but you can do all of the prep work. Use the heat insulator type, not the sound deadener.
