    Any live people

OK, I join the ncrs a few weeks ago. Send in a few questions and also ordered the shipping report. I know this is a volunteer group of guys but is there anybody alive at the end of all these automatic computer generated emails that i get. When i tried to call no one answers or when i send an email it never goes thru. They have it set up to receive your money pretty fast but nothing else. The restorer magazine is every 2 months but looks like I would of received the last one that was sent out. Guess I'm not use to how everything works.

    Chester,
Welcome to a fine organization, and I look forward to meeting you in person at an event sometime. I have spoken to Eric Mortimer on several occasions by phone. Not sure exactly what office hours they try to keep, and I know they are EST there in Cincy. Both Gary and Eric may have been out at Lake Tahoe this past week for the regional meet held there. In the meantime, can I take a shot at answering any particular questions for you?

    Hope you'll enjoy your membership,
    B.D.

      Chester,

Welcome to NCRS and thank you for joining. The Cincinnati, Oh NCRS office hours are Monday through Friday 9AM-4PM EST.

New member welcome letters are normally sent out about every two weeks. So you should be receiving yours shortly since you recently joined on May 30th.

The NCRS Help Desk www.ncrs.org/helpdesk/ is the place to go when you have NCRS related problems and questions. The Help Desk has a good Knowledge Base with self help articles.

You can also initiate a Help Desk ticket for any NCRS problems you're experiencing.

Welcome to the world's best Corvette organization.

Chester, I personally was away last week attending the Tahoe Regional, your SDR was placed 6/6/2013, and it will be processed most likely this week. The notice in the order process says please allow 30 days for processing. That is there for a reason there are a lot of events conducted within the boundaries of NCRS so sometimes many of us travel extensively. My office phone is rolled to my cellphone when I travel, if I missed a call from you I apologize, but loading on and off planes in attempts to travel is not always easy. When you ordered the service there should have been an auto generated email confirming that order if you did not receive it the email you supplied may be incorrect or received by us incorrectly. Welcome to the organization give us a chance to catch up with you. I believe you will find the service is acceptable.

          Re: Any live people

Is this the Chester Cummings from Paducah, KY? If so hello old friend. If not hello new friend. Let me tell you an NCRS story that happened yesterday.
Being highly involved with the Pittsburgh chapter for an eon I do get a lot of phone calls and email even though at the present time I am not the chairman.
Well yesterday a fellow called me from Uniontown, PA and said he was given my phone number by a mutual friend. The caller(Harry Fike) said he has a 54 Corvette and he would like to get it "certified" at a show this Saturday. (Pittsburgh chapter show). My first thought is we are loaded with cars but could use a few more judges. But I did not tell him that. I said to him that although I don't have a position with the show I will do my best to help you out Harry.

I asked Harry if he was a member of NCRS. He said what's NCRS??? I hear that often and once said it myself in Dec 1979 when I was asked to join our fine organization.
Anyhow I told him briefly about our club. I said you cannot have your car judged at our chapter show unless you are a member of NCRS. Told him time is running out since the show is on Saturday (he called yesterday). So I told him to get his credit card and call the home office in Cincinnati. And so he did. He called me back 1/2 hr later(his wife called) and gave me his membership number. #58534 which is close to your number Chester. So I faxed him our chapters registration form. Marked the critical areas for him to fill out. 1 hr later the form came back and believe it or not it was 100% correct. That doesn't happen to often.
Anyhow I took the patience to help a fellow who never heard of us and now he's coming to our show and I betcha before he leaves he will be a new member of our chapter.
Holler if you need anything Chester. Haven't talked to you in a long time. John

            Hi Chester,

Thanks for joining the NCRS- you'll enjoy membership!

We received your new membership on the 30th and I'm mailing about 80 new member packets (yours included) today. It should get from Cincinnati to Paducah quickly. It will contain a freebie back issue of both the "NCRS Driveline" (bi-monthly) and "Corvette Restorer" (quarterly).

The Cincinnati Office didn't receive any messages with your new member order or any emails from you. Both info@ncrs.org and ncrscincy@aol.com are good addresses for the Cincinnati Office.

            Again,
            Welcome!

I know these requests are taking longer as I have a similar request for paperwork verification into NCRS. I received an email stating it is taking closer to the 30 day timeframe.

Welcome to NCRS. I've been a member since 1990 and it's a great organization.

busChauffeur would be more respectful and appropriate I think.

Call it tongue in cheek you do remember where the wife works, same outfit you belong too, except her pay scale isn't quite the same, but heck she just makes sure the landing gear is present. You have the responsibility of activating it!!!!
