    67 BB Tire Tub issue

I'm just finishing a 67 BB Roadster and I'm at the tire tub stage (last). It's the original tire tub and lid but I fixed a couple spots on the tub. The car looks great and I can't bring myself to put this unpainted tub (as it should be) and lid on the car. If you were to look under the car you would see the gass I fixed that stands out like a sore thumb. Should I paint it? If so, with what and what color? How can you replicate the "laid up" glass look? HELP!

George, call Scott Sinclair at 905-857-1463.

He can tell you all you want to know about repairing tire tubs and lids.

I remember spraying a bit of black paint into the fiberglass mix before making the repair on one of mine. It worked very well. I sprayed a light coat of black on the repair. If you look hard, you can see the repair when it was all sanded. I'd paint yours lightly.
