Sorry, this is a bit off topic, but I thought some of you would have relevant insight from your Corvette related experiences...
I have a Chevy Trailblazer with large body side moldings painted in contrasting color. They've been repaired/repainted a few times and paint is now cracking/bubbling/delayering for a 2nd time. Body shop admitted they just continue to add paint instead of stripping them down. They need to be stripped down since paint layers are de-laminating IMHO. New moldings have long since been discontinued and online part number searches have yielded nothing.
What is a good product to use to get all these layers of paint off??? Chemical stripper??? Are the Corvette strippers okay to use on ABS, i.e. Captain Lee's, etc??? Media blasting of some type maybe??? They have lots of grooves/curvature/etc, so sanding is not really a good option IMHO. Any tips/tricks???
Thanks in advance.
