Does anyone know where to buy a correct distributor cap for a '63 with the base 250HP motor and power glide? Read on a related post that the model distributor cap I need is a D-308. I'll need a rotor as well. Thanks.

Re: Where to buy correct distributor cap?
For performance purposes, the rotor is more important than the cap. It seems that for the last 30 years, all rotors available in the aftermarket have a shorter tip for emissions purposes. I could not get my '67 L79 to rev to the "yellow-line" (much less the "red-line") consistently no matter what I did. Then I read an article in the "restorer" about this particular problem, and ordered a rotor with the proper length tip from an advertiser in the "Driveline" and problem solved. I don't know if the '63 uses the same rotor as a '67, but it sure solved my problem.- Top

Joe for judging reasons you'll want a NOS cap, there out there but not cheap. I Used the rotor made by K&B they advertise in the drive line. They also sell the repro dist. caps. not quite like factory as the judges know.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
