I am selling my 64 327-375 HP to a buyer in New Mexico. Currently, it runs great in southern Ontario (altitude approx. 800-1000 ft above sea level). My question is what, if any adjustments will be required to the Rochester injection system as the altitude in New Mexico will be in the 5000+ ft level? Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Fuelie 1964 Question...........
get access to a good air fuel ratio analysis and adjust accordingly. best is to do in car. but you probably wont have an issue if you just leave alone. depends how fussy you are. There are also some very experienced FI folks in New Mexico. Jerry- Top

Re: Fuelie 1964 Question...........
At high altitudes you need more air and less gas. I used to hear the old FI unit was self compensating for altitutes. Don't believe it.
Problem with the 64 FI is most of those units used the biggest nozzle RP had. They used "Y"s. Dealers complained so in 1965 a typical FI nozzle was one size smaller. Mostly "X"s.
If your customer has an issues instead of making a big deal out of it just try adjusting the idle fuel screw on the air meter a tad. Worst scenorio is backing off the economy stop on the fuel meter a 1/2 turn or so by the seat of his pants. Backing off mean turning the small allen head screw 1/2 turn counterclockwise with a 3/32 wrench after first unloosening the jam nut with a 3/8" wrench.- Top

Glad to hear a new fuelie will grace our great state! Our local chapter expert on FI is Bill Wilhelm, you should send him a PM and ask about it:
