63 FI exhaust manifold

The passenger side exhaust manifold on one of my 63 L84 cars is cracked. I've had a repair attempted by a supposed pro in welding these things, but he was not successful. I've had a repop on there while I've been looking for another original one. Unfortunately, its been a long, long search, without success, so I thought I'd give the repair another try...

I'm looking for someone who really knows what they are doing to give it a try, as these original fuelie manifolds are as rare as hen's teeth. If you know who might be able to do this, please let me know here or in a PM.

Jerry McNeish has a guy that did one for me successfully, however he is reported to be very old and just does what he wants, when he wants so mine took many months to get back to me. It does look perfect.

It is my understanding that the part has to be heated in a oven prior to proper cast iron welding.

call dean at cresap machine in Cumberland md 301 724 8794. he's furnace welded cast iron manifolds for me. you'll have to dress the wleds tho as he doesn't like grinding work.mike

Thanks Mikey, I'll give him a call. I don't mind grinding it. I've looked at swap meets at Bloomington, Kissimmee, and Carlisle for two years and haven't seen one of these manifolds that was any good, so a little grinding is better than many more hours of walking through hot swap meets.
