    C2 Charging Syatem Problem

    Today I took my 65 our for a short run and noticed that the Battery gauge needle was vibrating around the zero indicator. The vibration stopped when the engine was at idle but the rate increased as the rpm increased. I don`t have a clue as what to check for this problem. My vehicle is a one owner 62,000 mile original and both the regulator and alternator have never been changed or rebuilt.

      Sounds like regulator, but if it is staying around 0 it may still be charging OK.

          Remove the belt and see if you can detect any "looseness" or movement in the alternator bearing. After 48 years it might be time.
