63 Borg Warner transmission assembly dating

I have been looking for a correctly dated trans for my Mar. 63 and have been noting that that the assembly stamping and casting dates seem to be all over the place,Normal? I have seen some corvette stamped transmissions VIN'S with the same day assembly as my corvette, The transmissions casting dates are- a nov.62 and a Jan 3rd assy. date, and dec.62 casting date with with a Jan. 15th assy. date. maybe some of you 63 guys with The Borg Warner transmissions can post your date or just give me your thoughts. I have pics of all the numbers on the tranny for 10,290. You didn't mention a serial number. Is this close to your March build date?????......Gary

Ed,

Are you looking only for the Borg-Warner numbers? In Nolan's book there are a few close to your vin number, but they are M-20 transmissions.

For example: Vin 10996, Main Case: WC 1232, 3110996, 1-18-62

Monte, yes I am looking at Borg warner T-10's , There is a L-13-62 on flea bay w/assy date of WA1333

Edward, remember there is no (I) used in the main case dating so L would be November.

Another reference. Mine is T10D with case casting date 11-23-62, Assemble code WA23 1 (Jan 2nd, 1963, 1st shift), car assembly date of Jan 21. Hope this helps. Engine code F0I02RE (Jan 2nd)

Does anyone have a T-10D case without the year date cast in the side of the main case. I own one like that where the month and day but no year (62) and I remember reading something that some were made like that.
