Re: Question about purchasing historical documents
Chester, Yes if there is no info on your car your $40 will be returned. The Shipping records started around Jan of 1062. My 62 was built around Oct of 1961 & when nothing could be found Roy credited my Credit Card back the $40.
I was able to get correct info on my 65 & 66.

Re: Question about purchasing historical documents
Chester,
Clarification - there is no historical document to purchase. To expand on what Barry said, the Shipping Data Report is research of the Chevrolet Corvette Shipping documents. If your car is listed you will receive the original dealer code, dealer name, dealer address and the date Chevrolet considered the car produced.

Re: Question about purchasing historical documents
I sent for the shipping information on the 1970 I bought new. No information was available -- the microfiche was damaged where my car was listed. My credit card was credited with the $40. More recently I was told that new information had become available and some parts of the record had been established, and I sent a scan of my window sticker (complete with the non-original signature of Zora Duntov -- well I mean the signature is his, but it was not originally on the window sticker when the car was new.) for document validation, along with another $40. No news yet, but it is too soon to know if there is enough discernible data for that one. Do I really care? I bought the car new -- I know when it got to the dealer (although I did not see them unload it). I have the PoP with my name and then address on it. I have no intention of ever selling the car. The document validation and shipping data report will, however, make nice pieces of additional data for when the car passes on to its next caretaker. Remember we are only custodians of these cars for a short time. If all goes well they will outlive us and hopefully go on to another caring home. Think of the big picture.Last edited by Terry M.; June 9, 2013, 01:02 AM.Terry- Top
