I was given a toy model of a 67 Corvette. I do not know the model maker as this model was already put together by my brother many years ago. What strikes me funny is the car has a grand sport hood and the motor had side draft weber carbs. The fenders are not cut and the rest of the car except for headers coming out of the side of near the vents is STOCK. So my question is was this model some ones imagination or did Chevrolet sell stock Corvettes with Grand Sport options for street use?. The bottom of the model say's" 67 Corvette used under license".

No, Chevrolet never offered Grand Sport-type options on production 67's; that model is a figment of someone's imagination.- Top

Re: 67 Grand Sports
Walt, do you have a picture? An early stock bodied model to include some GS parts was the '65 coupe from AMT. It included the scooped, not vented, GS hood, the diff oil cooler cover, and Halibrands. I have not seen a '67 kit with GS parts. Mixing parts was very common. Keep your treasure. Steve- Top
