    68 A arm Dust Shields

My March built Coupe has staples. Would anyone know when the changeover was or what year the pushpin type started ? Many thanks in advance . Jeff

The new judging guide states "dust shields over the A arms are held to the skirt with staples in 1968 and black plastic push retainers in 1969". My Jun 68 build has staples.

There are two kinds of friends; the friend you call to bail you out of jail and the friend sitting next to you in the cell saying "Damn, that was great"!!!

My Feb built 68 has staples. Make sure you paint them engine bay color. They were installed before blackout.

Jack ,Are you saying that the edges of the covers would have paint on them ? Which in turn would cover the staples? Thank you all.

Jeff. I just went out to look at mine. I would guess that the sides of the dust shields had some paint on them. I think they would have been hanging straight down before the body was mated to the chassis. With the body mounted, the positioning of the shields on the a-frames make the orientation different. Maybe someone else can chime in. I would say that the edges weren't fully blacked out. I included a pix of mine in the next post.
