53 starter area photo

I need a photo of the starter/solenoid and the starter relay of a 53. I am putting one together right now and I have seen two different examples of how it is wired. If I just power my black wire everything in the car works, if I hood up the solenoid( batt cable) nothing works. Bought a new starter and solenoid and if you hook the batt cable up the opposite pole on the solenoid has a ground signal. Never had an issue like this and the new starter or solenoid could be bad, but when looking at some photos it shows it two different ways on some cars. If you have a 53 or 54 and it works please, please send me a photo.

Here are a couple of pictures of my unrestored '54, #3300. The starter has never been off this car and the wires have never been disconnected since new. Hope they help.
