Could someone please send me a picture of an original GM trailer hitch for a 61/62 Corvette. I need a picture of how it mounts to the rear cross member or at least a good explanation of how and where it mounts. Thanks Terry

I bet that there are a lot out there. We just don't want to admit it here. Think of the shame. Kind of like admitting that we have a plaid polyester suit in our closet.

I have to agree with you, I can't believe nobody has a picture .
Try the "other forum", I know Roy Bratz posts there sometimes and we all know he has a hitch on his 55.

I do have a hitch I made for my '62. It is not like the original though, but it fits up real easy. Comes off easy and is fairly hidden. No extra holes and 4 bolts is what attaches it to the rear cross member.

A previous Winter's project is the reason for the hitch. I know to many people it is just wrong to do this to a Corvette. No holes were drilled or tapped to install this hitch. Remove 4 bolts that thread into the already factory installed threaded holes in the rear crossmember and in about 5 min. it is either off or on the car.102_1042.jpg

David, nice job, I think the original bolted to those holes, that's why I was hopping someone would post a picture of an original. Seems there are none of these left or people are afraid to admit they have one. Terry

Terry, sent you the only and of course best pictures I have, to your home email. I did see an original hitch somewhere at a swap meet. It was more visible than this one that I made, so that is why I made it. I am sure if a person wanted to be period correct though and original hitch would be just right.
