    1965 Coupe windshield installation

Is there anyone who can give me information on how to properly install a windshield in a 1965 corvette coupe?

What do you need to know? If you have original glass (replacement is thicker) and a new W/S from Corvette Rubber (other brands are incorrect), the install is simple. Maybe this will help - http://www.stl-vettes.com/65Vette/wi...windshield.htm

      Jim,

Do you have experience with Corvette Rubber's door W/S? The reproduction W/S that I have is too thick and the doors don't close as smoothly as they should (compared to good cars with original w/s). Thanks in advance and sorry John, I'm not trying to hijack your thread.

      Regards
      Rob

        Rob,

I have their door W/S on my coupe. They were exactly like my originals except not 48 years old and worn out. The doors took a little more effort to close for the first month or so but they're fine now.

            John,
There are lots of details involved in doing a good job on the windshield. If you have never done one before consider this, remove your trim and existing windshield, clean ALL old sealent and spend some time polishing your stainless and inspecting the trim clips. Now call one of the glass installers with a mobile service truck. It will take him less than 30 minutes and you will pay less than $100 for a good job. Back to the garage! Bill
