Correct 1963 Fuel Pump

I just received a rebuilt 63 fuel pump from LIC . 4657 is stamped on the mounting flange. Can anyone tell me if this correct foe a 63 SHP?
I'm in my office and don't have my judging manual. (I know I am supposed to carry it with me at all times)

Jim,

The AC pump stamped "4657" is correct for your 1963. There should be a 2-digit casting number in the hole above the outlet with anywhere from 1 to 12 radial hash marks around this 2-digit number. The 2 digits represent the year and the number of hash marks represents the month.

Later 4657 pumps were stamped with 2 additional letters which represent the month and year the pump was assembled.
example: "4657 EF", where "EF" = May 1966.

Thanks, the date stamp is not on the replacement but I will check the one I am replacing

Jim,

The 2-digit casting year (with the encircling hash marks) in the hole above the outlet is very difficult to see once the pump is installed on the car. With the pump on the car you might be able to see the casting year with a small mirror used by dentists and some good lighting but I never tried.
