    64 Power Brake Master Cylinders

The new judging manual states that the master cylinder on power brake car has a MDDY code on the underside. The non Power Brake cylinder has a Julian date, I have seen about 30 of them for the last year and have not seen one with the MDDY code, all of them have Julian dates. Anyone know for sure which is correct.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Mike,
First of all why would you assume that the new judging manual be correct? Both are the same casting 5464264 and 7/8" bore. Both the power and non-power came from the same casting. The power has a bleed screw because it is tilted and the non-power does not tilt. Why would one be a julian and the other not when they were cast in the same plant in the same molds on the same day?

Thanks Joe, all along I knew your statement was correct, I guess I just wanted someone else to agree with me.

I agree with you. I have seen Julian dating on power brake master cylinders. Have one out of a 64 that shows 337.

i just happen to have three 64 MC's currently residing on my work bench, a pair that are off PB 64's and a single one off a non-PB 64. all three have julian date codes.mike

            JR,

Keep that up and you could get a 99 year suspension like I did.

My original 64 power MC is julian dated 337. So has anyone seen an original, on car, dated with MDDY code?

Reduced sentence and early release for good behavior around here.
