327-300 1967 spark plugs

I have a little problem, all winter long I run my car every weekend, for about 15 to 20 minutes. I took it out for a ride and it ran ok, but not like it should. I use ac45s plugs, and I put about 1,000 miles a year on the car. I just put a new set of the ac R45s in and the car runs super good. Yes the old plugs were also ac R45s I was told I should use autolite #295. What do you guys think, are plugs fouling out? thanks for any info. George

Part of your problem could be from the winter starts and stops, it's better to treat the gasoline with stabile and not start the engine until you are ready for a longer drive, the plugs are getting sooted up.

You can clean the old plugs in a glassbeader but be careful to blow them out very good before replacing them in the engine. AC makes a very good spark plug IMO..

There are at least three good reasons NOT to do that; just park it, leave it alone, and drive it in the Spring. AC R45 or R45S plugs will work fine for you.

I never had any luck cleaning plugs back in the day. For me, any SHP Chevy V8 capable of pulling 6500 rpm plus always needed new plugs to perform. Same plugs that cut out in an SHP may work fine in a lower HP, lower compression engine. Then too, I always found the 44 heat range better for SHP engines.
