Based on the AC Delco website as well as previous recommendations and trials I use the 45TS in my 1972s.

The R-45TS can be used and might even be better for most driving conditions. However, it's not the plug originally specified.

Nope, though I think it was for 1971 IIRC. I know that they originally had different plugs than the 72.
            Same motor, so interesting change.

.035 gap. The 45 is a little hotter plug. If you run it AND run regular gas you are more apt to get pinging.

                    Patrick-----

                    1971 L-48 specified the same R-44T as 1972. For 1971, though, the LT-1 called for the R-43T whereas 1972 LT-1 called for the same R-44T as L-48.

                    Addendum-----

I've found some conflicting information for 1971 L-48. GM information says that the R-44T was specified. Delco information says the R-44TS.

Sorry Mike, you're not going to goad me into one of your arguments.
                        Have a good day.
