    69 Rear Deck Grille_Mystery Tube

On the passengers side rear deck grille cavity I found a soft rubber tube about 1 inch in diameter which I can't find it in the 69 Assembly Manual ( J126, J127, J128). This tube is located near the top side (adjacent to the side of the plenum air door) of the cavity, directly above the drain located at the bottom of the cavity. It's hard to tell, but it appears to go back and up and then towards the center of the car. Can anyone explain the purpose of this hose? I was hoping someone could provide me with an explanation without having to remove the plenum air doors & rug. The attached photos show the end tip of the hose in question.

Wes it sounds like your refering to the rubber drain tube that exits into the wheel well on the pass. side. Those grilles on the rear deck is part of the astro vent. system.and the water has to have a place to drain.

In the 1969 AIM the drains are on page UPC 1 F21. By the way, those J page numbers are not numbers used on the original AIM pages. They were added when the after market contents sections were published. The J page numbers are differnt depending on when your copy of the AIM was copied and who's contents section you have. The UPC section and Sheet numbers are the original GM page numbersand are the same in all copies of the AIM.
