1956 -1962 Door window felts

I spent some time looking at previous posts on this topic but still have a couple questions for those with knowledge about window felts. I'm referring to the inner and outer felts with part numbers:
3725135 left inner
3725136 right inner
3725137 left outer
3725138 right outer

Do the NOS felts have the same fit (good or bad) as the repro and are the repro's acceptable to pass judging? Which do you guys recommend?

NOS felts work badly. Felt is too thick, bead is too thin. Other than that, they're pretty good.

Before you install the felts, put the front end in a vise and crush it some, it can create more clearance between the window frame and the felt.
A little silicone grease on the window frame can also help.
But they still will get torn up after some time.

I believe Bruce means to crush the felt up front, not the stainless holder/bead. Be sure that the staples holding the felts to the inner and outer moldings are very secure and make sure the stainless holder/bead is above the edge of the moldings they are stapled to. If the beads are below or even with top of molding, the window will drag it down.

I'm still in the process of deciding which ones to buy. Are you all recommending the repros?

Repros are as good as you can get.

I just found 3 new repro felts in my supply box if someone had a 4th one to make a set for Andrew. I don't need them. Unfortunately the big vendors only sell them in sets of 4.
