    72 Coupe Carpet Question

Hey guys. Can anybody tell me if the carpet in the area around the rubbuer drain hoses in the back was an actual hole cut or was tha carpet slit and split around the drain? It has been many years since my car has had any carpet in it and the old ones were in such bad shape I tossed them long ago. It was a Bubba job abyway.

Also. Is the back padding around the seatbelt installation area supposed to be removed? It looks to have a pre-cut rectangle shape around it.

Carpet installation is not my area of expertise. Any suggestions, help, or whatever would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

This is what my 70 Coupe looks like. (original carpet)

Not sure I understand your question regarding the seatbelt? Here's what the shoulder belt area looks like.

My 1972was slit around the drain tubing. On the shoulder harness connection areas my underlayment had an oval cutout to allow access for the bolt and the alignment pin to be exposed. I believe the underlayment to be original to the car. Glen
