Re: T-Top Chrome Molding
Les, I heard alot about the removel of those mouldings for repainting the car, Myself, I left them in place because of what happens when reinstalling them on a freshly painted car. they will tend to remove the paint on the re-install. if you do a careful job of taping you will not be able to see a parting line. Its a tight fit around the top. Good luck EdNew England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: T-Top Chrome Molding
Les,
I took the front portion off and left the piece that is over the door glass alone.
There is a rivet that holds the piece on that is over the door glass. If you choose to remove that piece, you will have to drill that rivet out. The problem doing this is, the butt of the rivet will be rattling around inside your T-Top if you do not address it.
I bought a car years ago that had the rivet rattling around in it. To resolve my issue, I got a tube of white glue and squirted in the rivet hole, and then rattled the rivet butt around until it found its way into the glue. I let it sit over night, and no more rattle.
Just food for thought.
