J clips that hold wiper hose and wire harness What is correct for 1971 454 no AC

My 71 has been a nightmare but slowing getting restored. Its been hit in the front and sections have been replaced and nothing original. I am trying to find out what is the correct number and configuration J clips with the dipped rubber ends attached per inner wheel well fenders for the left and right side.

    4 questions

    1. In the AIM which show Pic attached-- there is 3 J clips on the inner fender Drivers side and one near the cowel fire wall circled in RED. Is this J clip supposed to be attached to the bottom of the top shroud? There is provisions a hole where I guess it is to be riveted to the inner lip top shroud, Should my 71 have a J clip attached under the top shroud

    2. Is there 3 J clips attached to the Passenger side inner wheel well fender

    3. A picture showing a Drivers inner fender I collected some time ago. It has 5 J clips
Number 1, 3, and 4 These J clips has a lock type clamp. Is this correct for the my 71 without A/C or is this an 72 and up
Number 2 and 5 shows standard J clip. Again only 2 on the drivers side. Should I have 3 J clips for my 71

    4. I have a pic of a fender with a metal flat bar. Approx 4 inches by 1.5 inches. It is riveted on with 2 rivets and the other 2 holes are threaded. I forgot what this is for and is it correct for my 71 vette.

Any help is appreciated. My body man wants to put the right stuff as the inner fenders are getting repaired

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Grant,
I'll answer your first question. On the driver's side inner fenderwell the first clip is riveted to the top surround lip. It is J clip lock, followed by three more of the same style clips. There are also three of the rubber coated j clips along the inner fender well as well. These 7 clips are used for two different harnesses/hose routings.
The second question answer is yes. Although the first j clip is riveted to the top surround, the second is a different style j clip lock and the forward clip for the expansion tank hose seems to be a push in style clip for the hole.

      Grant,
You asked if the drivers inner fender was correct for your 71, or was it a 72 and later?
I can tell you the my 72, 454 has the one hoop with a clip attached to the fender lip, not shown on your fender well, and also has three other hoops pretty close to where your , 1, 3, and 4 are. There are no rubber coated flexible ones at all.

Mine looks very similar to the AIM page you have shown.

You have my e-mail. If you want, e-mail me and I will take pictures for you.
