    C2 Hardtop storage stand

I am looking to purchase a hardtop storage stand for my 67 hardtop. I saw an ebay ad for a stand that is made for a Mercedes hardtop but the ad says it will fit many other hardtops including midyear corvettes. The picture in the ad shows a Mercedes hardtop resting in the stand cradle with the back window down. I thought I read a post where it was discussed that the corvette hardtop should be stored with the front header down. Is my recollection correct that the C2 hardtop should be stored in the stand with the front header down? The item number of the stand in the ebay ad is:
    370070312362
Has anyone purchased the stand in the ebay ad? If so will it accommodate a C2 hardtop with the front header down?
Any recommendations on a good hardtop stand will also be appreciated.
Thanks for taking time to give me your thoughts.

    Re: C2 Hardtop storage stand

I don't remember details, but there have been threads about a simple DIY wall hanging design that was very clever and effective.

I've got mine stored out-of-sight, out-of-mind and have wanted to implement the wall hanging design for convenience, but never got around to it.

Maybe others can chime in with details or search the archives.

I went to home depot, bought 4 wheels and some 2x4's and built one. I just followed the design of the metal stands. Two of the wheels swivel.

      Very inexpensive but affective.

A piece of all-thread with a nut and washer on each end, outboard of the hardtop side brackets, and two hooks in the wall, and you can hang it up out of the way without crushing the weatherstrips and you won't trip over it.

          Harry and John,
I had recalled both of the storage options that you recommend from prior threads.
I am in the process of moving and was looking for a temporary storage option as we will be moving 3 times before we reach our permanent home and I was looking for something that I could put the hardtop on and be able to move it around with relative ease. The stand advertised on ebay seemed to be what I want except I was hoping that someone had bought one and could verify that the C2 Hardtop will fit with the front header pointed down. Harry I could build my own but I don't have the luxury of time to spend on the project at this time.
Anyway I'm hopping one of our fellow NCRS members has bought the ebay version of the stand and can provide input on whether it worked.
Thanks again for your great suggestions.
