Seeking the GLOSS paint manufacturer and paint code that will pass NCRS judging when applied to the following 1960 Corvette Interior Parts:
Instrument Housing
Package Tray
Kick Panels
Console
Steering Column
Speaker Grill
Cowl Defrost Vents
The Judging Manual calls for Gloss Interior Color, which in my case is Black.
In researching the Internet, several references are being made to PPG# DDL9300 Tuxedo Black Lacquer to best match the factory finish, which I understand remains available from TCP Global. Is this the right paint to use or is there a more appropriate product?
I have identified a local paint shop that will shoot lacquer on these parts. My questions are; to achieve the “as left the factory” finish, is the PPG# DDL9300 Gloss Black Lacquer paint sprayed on with or without reducer/evaporator to achieve the correct sheen? Is the paint buffed or un-buffed? I want to make sure the correct level of gloss is achieved to apiece the judges. Your directional assistance is greatly appreciated.
