I fixed the oil leak last week. Drove the car 150 miles down to the Southern California Chapter meet at Cardiff By The Sea. Did not have the car judged as I was signed up to be an observer judge. Just wanted to drive it.
Stopped to pick up Duke Williams in Redondo Beach. We were checking the timing and noticed the vacuum advance was not working. Found a ball bearing in the hose! Bubba! Reset timing and idle and went on our way. Car ran great the whole trip. Pretty much kept it at 70 on the freeway. Temps ran from 180 to 210. Not bad for a 48 year old radiator.
I still have high oil pressure. going to give it a few hundred more miles to see if it loosens up. If not, I will be dropping the pan to look at the oil pump.
One more note on the ride. Car has the original F40 suspension and shocks. Rides quiet a bit stiffer then my standard suspension on the 67. The bias ply tires didn't do to bad either!
