1. What color is the battery terminal felt washer for a 1962 Corvette? Corvette Central sent me a very dark gray (almost black) one. Paragon sent me a light gray one.

2. The 1962 JG doesn't say so, but research in the archives states that this felt washer was soaked in gear lube. Can anyone confirm that this was done for 1962s?

Here's an NOS 378082 battery post washer for 63-67. I have to guess that it's the same part number for 62. Maybe someone with a 62 AIM can verify this?

The washer was to be soaked in 90W gear lube before installation. The lube symbol in the AIM refers to the part number for this lube. It was/is brown in color.
