I have a '68 Canadian delivered corvette, originally sold in Scarborough, Ontario at Golden Mile Motors Limited. I have the GM Canada documents listing all options and colour. In the new judging manual on page 73 it says a Canadian-Export label should be affixed below the emissions label. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks.

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
Surprised to see that someone is making them given that it's government issued and controlled. Also, I thought the label was affixed to the rear of the drivers door in the upper left corner. Maybe this is just later cars.- Top

Brian-
Here's what an original Transport Canada import sticker looks like, and it's placement at least for a July '73 car.

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
Were the A.I.R. emissions systems deleted on the '68 Canadian Corvettes like other cars?Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
No emissions equipment was ever deleted on any Corvette delivered to Canada, or any other car I'm aware of. Our standards have always been the equivalent of US Federal (49 state) regulations.- Top

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
Where it says,
"In 1968, vehicles exported to Canada and other countries did not require the AIR system. RPO KD1 was used to delete the system (if it would have been so equipped otherwise) and 1/4"-18 NPSF straight pipe thread plugs were installed in the manifolds. It is unknown if a credit was issued on the Canadian window stickers for this delete. The Controlled Combustion System was still installed on the exported L6 automatic and small block automatic cars.In 1969, Canadian cars used the same emission controls as U.S. cars."
Also most all Fords had their Thermactor pump and injector systems deleted as shown on the build sheets and Marti reports, except for the 428 CJ, in 1968 too.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Michael:
Documents from GM Canada do not list option KD1. Only options listed:
A01 glass - tinted - all windows
G81 differential carrier - positraction
L79 engine: 327 cu.in. - spec high-perf (hyd lifters) 350 hp-v8
M21 4 speed manual transmission - close ratio
N11 off-road service exhaust
N40 hydraulic steering
PT7 F70-15-4 PR tire - spec nylon - white stripe
U15 speed warning indicator
U69 radio - AM-FM pushbutton
V48 engine coolant - increased protec (antifreeze)
Still would like to know where I can get that export label.- Top

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
OK, I guess the Corvettes were treated differently than other GM and Ford cars. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack the thread, just curious about what to look for on '68 Canadian Corvettes.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
Edit add: That door location for the transport label is where I have seen 1968-1972 Canadian delivered Corvettes, but then we don't see so many south of the border.Terry- Top

If it's the Engine Oil Recommendation label sticker you're looking for as suggested by Jason and Terry, here you go:

Re: Canadian Delivered Corvettes
Been a Lurker for years, but since I feel I have something to add to this topic, this is my first post so.... I lived in Toronto from 91-95 and acquired a Canadian Export 71 LT-1 while there. I researched these labels with various folks while I lived there and found there were at least 3 different versions of this label. I removed (partially) an original label from a 73 Lemans and used it as an example to create two different versions. I don't know how to post pictures so if someone will PM an email address I will send a PDF file that shows these three labels (1 original, and the two labels I created). I created these with a CAD system in the late 90s so it would be much easier to recreate these with today's computer technology. I still have a few labels left that anyone is welcome to if they want them. I used one of these when my 71 LT-1 was judged in 1998. Thanks, Troy Marquis- Top
