    Northern california engine builder

    Hi Friends
I have a 1966 427 490 hp convertible; matching numbers one owner from 1968. L88 alum heads, last rebuilt in the 80's. I have engine issues and need a rebuild. Can anyone recommend someone really excellent in northern california to handle the job?

    Thanks

As with any engine builder, make sure you tell them that you don't want the block decked. They'll probably know that but it's always wise to emphasize the point.

Not sure which part of Northern Ca you are looking for...???

I personally use LJ's in Napa Ca. I've had several 1966/67 427/390 HP engines built by them and another one will be coming up real soon (for my '67). They have built at least 20 complete engines for me, ranging from nut and bolt correct small block and big blocks (Chevys and Mopars in my case), to some pretty awesome racing engines (327's and L88's) for my Midyear Vintage race cars (they have their own dyno as well). I was there today talking to John (the owner) about the progress on the 302 engine for my 1969 Z/28, which I am extremely pleased with. These guys produce some amazing work. FYI - they only build engines, no R&R service work is available at their shop. Good luck with your search, Charlie

I'm in Grants Pass Or. I've done a bunch of race motors and performance engines. I have the only CNC machine around to machine any surface on that block to within a tenth of a thousanth.I also have my own balancer and don't have to farm anything out.I am also restoring a 62 so understand the importance of the numbers and making it correct.Give me a call 541-218-7754.
