Still working on removing the interior on a 1969 convertible that I am doing a frame off restoration. I only lack this one socket to complete the wiring harness removal for the back of the car. As can be seem in the attached picture the wiring for the socket that attaches to the courtesy light comes under the attachment bracket and them attaches to the socket. The socket is too large to go under the bracket. Is there some kind of trick that I am missing to remove this wire? The wiring harness is in good shape. I am not interested in unwraping the harness all the way back to the fuse block plug to reomve the wire. I could cut the wire and splice the wire back in the wraped section but really do not want to do that if that is not correct. Surely the wiring harness was complete at the factory and they did not have to attach the socket after installing the wire under the bracket?
Thanks for any comments or suggestions.
