Re: Trailering a C3
I passed a trailer not long ago that had two motorcycle straps across the car, from side to side. Nothing to arrest fore and aft movement. Needless to say I did not stay close to that rig very long.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: Trailering a C3
Thanks for all the feedback. Does anyone have any advice about how to prep a car for open trailering in order to minimize any damage from rocks, debris, etc. to windshield/nose? This is a 600 mile trip. Thanks- Top

Re: Trailering a C3
There is a white vinyl type of material that can be place on the car and windshield. This material is the same type that is used when new cars leave the factory and are transported on the trucks. They sell it in rolls. Easy to work with and sticks with static adhesion. I have used it in the past and it worked very well.
Other than the latter, I have seen cars shrink wrapped before, but I have never used this method since all my trailering at this point is performed in an enclosed trailer (thank God).

Re: Trailering a C3
Just saw a Better on a U Haul trailer. Deck was 15'. Made a very neat package.
Do not use a car cover when towing unless you want to have to do some heavy polishing. A car cover at 55 mph is about the same as sanding your car with 1500 grit.Dick Whittington- Top
