67' #4 body mount cage and reinforcement plate

The left and right #4 body mount cages that sit right behind the deck lid springs broke off during removal of the body mount bolt. These cages appear to be riveted to the body, however, in order to rivet a new one on it appears you must remove the #4 body mount reinforcement plate which is also riveted on by 6 rivets. Am I looking at this correctly? Trying to avoid having to take off both body mount reinforcement plates in order to rivet the body mount cage back on.

That is correct. If the body is off its not that big of a deal to just re-rivet everything.

Thx Scott....I was afraid of that. You mean just re-rivet what needs to be done....You didn't un-rivet all the other plates, brackets, etc, did you? I know a lot of them have surface rust but that can be cleaned and painted with it still riveted to the car. Also are most of the underbody rivets 3/16"?

That is really up to you Dave how far to go. Myself, I removed every piece of metal, bead blasted and repainted all of them and riveted back into place.

I tapped the 2 holes in the reinforcement plate for the cage and used 10-24 Stainless screws cut to length so they're flush with the reinforcement plate.

Dave, what Scott said. The riveting's not hard to do, takes 2 people. I just did 60+ rivets on my 67 in 2 hours with a helper. I used my air chisel with a bucking bar made from an old chisel but you can also get one from an aircraft supply store for around $20, 100, 3/16th rivets are less than $10. I used up 7 rivets practicing on a piece of scrap and getting the air pressure set (24 psi. on my gun). After that, it was easy, You'll find a boatload of rust under some of those parts especially the front seat mount channels.
