    1962 cowl vent paint

What color is the screen mesh on the cowl vent on 1962 Vette, body color or black? Took it apart a couple of years ago to paint car and now it is body color. Thanks

    Ted,

The screen would be body color.

Also, if you expect to have it judged, you need to have some body color overspary down onto the arm/lever rod as it was painted on the car open at the factory and overspray on the arm is expected. I learned that at Bowling Green on my 60 this week.

Bill, wish I had seen yours before I put mine back together. I'm to old or lazy, or both to try to get back under there and correct mine. You can also see the red interior color overspray on yours when they were spraying the interior.

Bill, your vent assy spray patterns, colors and coverage are practically identical to how my '60 Ermine/Red was done at the plant.
