66 power Brake option and Dipstick positioning

I am in the process of installing an original Power Brake system (Master Cylinder, Booster, new front and Rear Brake lines etc.)on my 66 L79 car.

Everything will be stock and original.

Question regarding the Dipstick placement, Is the Dipstick tube different for a power brake install?

My current dipstick is original to the car and is in the proper normal position situated in the gap provided in the Exhaust Manifold, but it sticks out and will interfere with the new stock Power Brake Master cylinder.

What is the fix for this?

    Thanks

Also, is the Breather Tube at the back of the engine Semi Gloss Black or Gloss Black, couldn't find the description in my judging manual

    Nick,
The original dip stick tube should be curved sufficiently to position the dip stick without contacting the brakes unit. But the dip stick does get rather close during insertion and removal.

      Thank you Gene,

will be installing on the weekend and will see, now for my other question, the Breather tube that is bolted to the back of the engine, connecting to the air cleaner

is this component supposed to be semi gloss black or gloss black

      thanks

        Nick -

That crankcase breather tube was flow-coat primed semi-gloss black.

Here's a couple of photos that may help with dipstick clocking & tube position with p/brakes. Note that the tube is positioned relatively close to the cast notch in the exhaust manifold. Also, the loop in the dipstick's handle projects inboard toward the engine. I find that there is clearance to pull the dipstick straight out without interference.

            Jeff,

            Those are Great Pictures.

I didn't even think of turning the handle around.

Will be installing this weekend and bleeding brakes

            Wish me Luck !!!!!!

I really appreciate you taking the time to post the photos.

            Regards,

            Nick
